History

Cordray's Transmission was founded in 1979 in Salem,Oregon by Lyle Cordray. After a couple of years of growing the business,

a building in Albany on 1st Avenue became available and Lyle moved the business there. Over the next 29 years,

Cordray's Transmission would earn it's reputation as the best Transmission Shop in the Willamette Valley.

Lyle and his crew earned their reputation by not trying to be the cheapest transmission shop, but by being the best.

Being the best meant using better quality parts and employing the latest fixes and updates to the transmission so that they were 'better' than new.

Continental Transmission was founded in 1979 by Steve and Loren Wagener.

Continental began as a transmission shop, but later branched out into engine rebuilding and general repair as well.

For 38 years, Cordray's and Continental were the main shops and Albany doing reputable Transmission repair.

On September 1st 2017, Steve Wagener retired from the automotive industry, and sold the building.

Cordray's, needing a larger location, agreed to lease the former Continental building.

Cordray's purchased the Continental company assets, hired their employees, and began operating as Cordray's Continental Auto Repair & Transmission

This joining brings two longtime companies together, where we can offer the customers of both, many more choices.

Future Goals
